I was looking for a software solution for serial port tunneling but most of them either did not offer continuous support or were extremely outdated. Only Serial to Ethernet Connector was able to meet those criteria.
Maintains connections
Really glad that it works as a Windows service. When accidentally closed, Serial to Ethernet Connector maintains all created virtual serial ports and network connections.
Windows 10 support hell yeah
Serial to Ethernet Connector works with Windows 10 which is really nice. Most serial port drivers’ limit is Windows 7 that has already been discontinued by Microsoft.
Nice interface
A modern and intuitive interface is really what caught my eye in Serial to Ethernet Connector. It is much friendlier and it is really easy to create virtual serial ports and connect them across the network.
Significant upgrade for old hardware
Serial to Ethernet Connector helped us to cut the costs on upgrading the existing hardware. We had to replace the communicating software and SEC was the only way to link it with the older devices.
