Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO

I’m a weather and electronics hobbyist, and one of my projects is a 24/7 Personal Weather station that reports to numerous sources online.

The program I use to manage the station, and broadcast to my website is WxSolutions, but I wanted to be able to experiment with alternative software without having to disable what I already had set up, so I started looking for a virtual serial port.

I found Serial Port Splitter by Electronic Team after trying multiple alternative software options- but I was never able to make them work properly. To my delight, I did NOT have that issue with Electronic Team’s Serial Port Splitter.

Now I’m able to have several virtual COM ports from just a single REAL COM port, so I’ve got several Weather Station programs operating at the same time. This is so I can have a much better idea of the weather conditions.

Thanks to this software I can keep live data continuously moving between multiple websites easily. It really is very easy-to-use, and my capabilities with my weather program have greatly expanded thanks to this software.

We were looking for a serial port emulator to work with our barcode scanners. Information is collected and sent through an RS-232 serial port. We needed to use the data for multiple applications. We thought we would need another “real” serial port until we decided to look into virtual serial ports.

We found Electronic Team’s Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO, and chose their software because they had a great selection of products and client references.

It was a great decision, as we were able to create COM port bundles that allowed us to use the same barcode scanner regardless of the application. We were really impressed with the capabilities that Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO provided, considering it was pretty reasonably priced.

This saved us a TON on hardware expenses and increased our efficiency. VSPD PRO is also very easy to learn how to use, so even those of us who weren’t the most technologically savvy were able to figure it out.

Lastly, their customer support team is phenomenal, and they have helped us numerous times when we asked for the usage/purchase possibilities.

We love the way Serial Port Splitter has been so easy to integrate into our own software. It’s saved us a lot of time and a lot of money. It’s super quick to set-up and hasn’t given us any issues so far.

It’s really helpful for being able to create multiple digital COM ports when developing GPS-compatible apps. I haven’t tried it with much else yet, but I’m excited to do so with all of the nice features Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO provides.
