VLC is already a very good piece of software but, if you’re using a macOS computer, Elmedia is even better. It’s lightweight, the UI is very clean and it is much easier to understand. Vlc has so much unnecessary options.

This player does not have any significant drawbacks. I’d rather it played unencrypted Blu-Ray.
