Alternative to VLC for macOS
Elmedia is a rather good media player for Mac, however, VLC is still my go to media player and has been for at least 10 years. It’s super lightweight and has everything it needs right out of the box. The default UI is a bit dated but UI has never stood much ground over functionality in my opinion.

Almost free
This app pinned it in my toolbar. When I saw Elmedia Player, I downloaded it to check whether it’s a free or paid software. After I used it, I understood how good it is! Moreover,quite easy to operate. But some cool features are available only in paid version
